Nothing like being pampered by four year old boys..

My mom is visiting us for a few days. We have been having fun shopping, cooking & playing with the boys. Today the boys asked if they could paint our nails. They have never done this before. They have just seen me do it in the past. So we stripped the boys down to their undies and let them have at it. We did this in the backyard so I didn't end up with fingernail polish all over my carpet & furniture. Of course, I took pictures. The boys picked the colors so keep that in mind!

We had a good time! The only disaster out of the whole thing is the boys got nail polish on my new shirt :( Here is hoping it comes out!

Pre School Pictures

We decided to combine the boys' 4 year pictures with Pre School pictures. We thought we would share with some of you who have wanted to view these in the past. Please ignore the curtain edges..they were cropped out later! Enjoy!

Grapes anyone?

We have a mountain of grapes growing in our backyard! I hadn't realized how many we had until today. If anyone local wants some, let me know! They are pretty tasty.

And the countdown begins...

We went to the boys' preschool last night to meet their teachers. We were surprised to find out that they have been placed in the same class. When we registered we were told they do not like to do that with twins and asked if we minded them being separated. So, after prepping them all summer long about being in different classes it turns out it won't be an issue. We were pretty relieved. The only thing on the supply list was a backpack for each child. We let the boys pick them out. I think Isaac has a thing for The Hulk and Taylor for Spider-man. They wanted to show their grandma's and grandpa's their new packs.

Penguin Suits

The boys have been asked to be ring bearers in Tony's cousin's upcoming wedding. We went to the tux shop today to have them fitted. They will be wearing a light colored tux with matching shoes. I can't wait! I took pictures because I am a freak and think I need to take pictures of everything. :)

Taylor

Because he swore it would fit :)

Isaac was getting measured. I had to laugh at Taylor. I think he was just done.

Just because I really like this picture...

Sweet!

My friend Natalie has a wonderful site that she posts yummy recipes on. I have been eying these cinnamon rolls for months now so I decided it was time I try to make them. I am not the best baker so I always hesitate to even try. It took two tries, but they finally turned out! She has a recipe for cream cheese frosting that sounded yummy, but since I did not have cream cheese on hand I opted for making frosting out of powdered sugar. I just had to document the occasion to prove to my family that I CAN bake. :)

Color, finally!

We went through the boys room in June and painted the walls, added a new ceiling fan, baseboards and finally blinds. I have been meaning to post this for some of you who have been wanting to see the before and after pictures. I'm a bit delayed, obviously, but here it is...

Now if I could just figure out what I want to hang on their walls!

Cabin, Take 2

Alright, we visited our family cabin again this past weekend with the Thomason's. Trish pretty much summed up the weekend on her blog (her link is on my blog roll) so I will save myself some time and just post pictures!

We had a wonderful time and we can't wait to have them join us again!

Future Pros?

The boys have shown an interest in playing golf the last few weeks, Isaac in particular. Tony and I took lessons together 2 years ago and we have been playing ever since (Tony more than I). One night last week I came home from work with Tony asking me "Do you want to see what I bought the boys?" It was a small Nike golf club. Isaac was in heaven. He has not let that thing out of his sight for more than a few hours a day. Taylor likes it, but is just as happy with a plastic fisher price golf club. Anyways, on with the story....We woke up yesterday and Isaac desperately wanted to go to a golf course with "special golf grass". We called around and found a course that allows all ages on the driving range. We let the boys hit balls while we helped & instructed (again, more Tony than I). As you will see in the video below, Isaac seems to get the idea a little bit more than Taylor. Hopefully with some more practice we will be able to take them golfing in a few years!

Isaac getting ready to hit the ball. Notice his facial expression. Anytime he is concentrating really hard, his tongue pops out. (Tony says that he takes after Grandpa Dude in that sense)

Taylor after he hit the ball

Action shots!

After watching this back, I realized that I don't sound super excited in it :) I was trying to get a video with both of them in it without it being 5 minutes long! Hope you enjoy!

4 p.m. is not coming soon enough!

We are heading to our family cabin with the Thomason's this afternoon. The boys have been helping me pack up the car. They actually asked if I would take their picture to show their grandma's. I have decided I blog way to much if my 4 year old boys want to contribute.

You may not be able to tell, but they are sitting on a cooler that they packed by themselves. Taylor asked if they could pack it..I was busy trying to put everything else together so I said sure. When they were all done I looked inside. They packed nothing but Kool-Aid Jammers & Otter Pops. I just had to laugh. I had to sneak in food when they were not looking!

***On a side note, the boys' Grandma & Grandpa Dude visited Utah last weekend and while they were here they bought the boys each a new pillow. These things are as big as the boys and they want to take them with us this weekend. We may need to get a bigger car if this continues!! Thank you grandma & grandpa! The boys love their new pillows!!

Isaac

For the last day or so Isaac has been really attached to either Tony or myself. It started yesterday morning when Tony was leaving for work. Usually, he is lucky enough to get a kiss from either kid before they are off playing somewhere in the house. It was a different story this time...Tony went to tell them bye which in turn Isaac started to cry. He didn't want his dad to go to work. He wanted him to stay home and play all day. Tony tried to explain to him that he needed to leave but that he would be back in a few hours. He cried for a good 3 or 4 minutes and then grabbed on to Tony as tight as he could. It broke my heart...

Later that night I was at work (which by the way, I am done! I am officially a stay at home mom now) and Tony called me to tell me that I needed to give Isaac a big hug when I got home. I guess when it was bedtime Isaac started crying when I wasn't there..he said he lost his mommy. Poor kid..hopefully this is a short lived phase!

Here it is...

All four of us took a trip to Karen's (our hairdresser) yesterday. The three guys in the family got their usual short spiky haircut. I decided to try something a bit more drastic. Though I had her cut my hair the same I opted for a new color. So..here it is.

I love it!
