Memorial Day

Since we were unable to make it to Idaho Falls today to leave flowers for my dad for Memorial Day we decided to plant flowers for him in our front yard. The boys picked beautiful "Grandpa Mike" flowers. We miss him so much! The boys talk about him all of the time. They love to listen to The Beatles, just like their grandpa. We love him and will never forget him!!!

Here are a few pictures of the flowers the boys chose to plant for him.

The boys' Great Grandpa Bill passed away last year also. He had a Catalpa tree growing in his front yard for years. Every time we saw a Catalpa we always thought of grandpa. So, in memory of him we planted a Catalpa Tree in our front yard. I'm so glad the boys were able to play with Grandpa Bill at the Elk's lodge while he was volunteering there. We miss and and love him!

They will both make sure the flowers and the tree grow big and strong. It will be good for the boys to have somewhere to go to talk with Grandpa Mike. Now they can visit with him there and when they come here, they have a place. He is smiling, and he loves you all dearly. I planted more flowers here from all of you, and placed flags for the boys.

Shea, I didn't know your Dad had passed away. I am so sorry. Those beautiful flowers will be a great way for you all to remember him.

Thanks everyone! The boys have enjoyed the flowers and tree. They mention them daily.

Carol- No worries about not knowing. He passed away from a massive heart attack last August. Thanks for the sweet comment.

What a good idea to plant flowers for memorial day! We might have to start that tradition. How have you guys been? The boys are getting so big, I can't even believe it...I have been good, now that my husband is home.
