Happy Birthday Tiffany

Just a quick post to say Happy Birthday to my favorite sister, and my kids' favorite aunt! Hope you had a great birthday oh sister of mine!

I know..I know..

Alright, Please don't think I am a crazy person for taking pictures of my boys when they are truly upset about something, but I could not help myself today!

The boys asked if they could have a picnic outside. I decided it was warm enough, so after making their lunches all three of us headed outside. I let them eat on their little picnic table out on the grass and I sat up on our patio. They were talking away while I was looking at a magazine. Then it happened...I heard Isaac scream as loud as he could. I ran down to get him but before I could get down the stairs he was running towards me. Taylor followed him laughing the whole time. I couldn't figure out what had happened. I brought him in searching for bug bites or something that may have hurt him. He just would not calm down for anything. Since I could not get anything out of him, I asked Taylor what happened to his brother. Taylor started to laugh and said that a fly came to say hi to Isaac and it landed on his head. Isaac started crying even harder and told his brother that the fly was not saying hi, it was going to eat him. He truly believed it..I could tell from how hard he was shaking and crying. I could not help but giggle a little inside. A FLY? Seriously?

I finally got him to calm down enough to explain to him that a fly will not hurt him. That Taylor was right..the fly just wanted to say hi. Again, Isaac said flies do not talk momma, they eat people. I have no idea where this came from!

My poor child would not go back outside. I hope he will forget about this or it will be a VERY long summer! I decided to snap a few shots of him after I found out he was just upset about a fly. You can tell in the pictures how upset he was...I will never forget this story!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

I know it has been a while since we have posted anything. We have been pretty busy! I have finals tomorrow, so after that hopefully I will have time to sit down and actually BLOG. Until then, I took this picture of the boys this morning. Taylor's headband was hurting his head, so he decided to put a winter hat under it. Pretty smart! I was going to tape cotton on the ends of it, but I liked his idea much better. Anyways, Happy St. Patty's Day!

Grandpa Dude

Tony's dad had an emergency appendectomy this past Wednesday. Everything went fine and he is doing very well! He should hopefully be going home today. The boys asked if they could drive to Grandpa Dude's house to kiss him better. They obviously do not understand that there is a nine hour drive separating his house and ours.

This seemed like a good idea at the time. As you will see, it took a few shots and some candy to get them to stand still long enough to capture anything decent! I think the last picture was the best out of the ten or twelve I took.

These pictures sort of remind me of one of those cartoon flip books! Anyways, we love you Grandpa Dude and we hope you are feeling better soon!!!

Old Film

Alright, so we have had a disposable camera sitting on our desk for the last 7 months. I finally decided to have it developed today. For the most part, the pictures turned out. Surprisingly there were only 3 or 4 that were a bit fuzzy or out of focus. Most of them were taken back in August when Tony and I went to Colorado for Mike and Muriel's 25th wedding anniversary. This was our first trip away from the kids and I loved every minute of it!!! (I hope that doesn't sound too harsh)
Anyway, Mike (Tony's dad) rented this beautiful cabin for relatives that drove in for the party. It was amazing and had a gorgeous view. You may be asking why I decided to post pictures that were taken 7 months ago. I know I would be if this were someone else's blog. I had some family and friends that wanted to see these pictures. Sorry they are so late!

The party was a blast and we met up with family that we hadn't seen in a long time! On a different note, here are a few pictures we took just to kill the rest of the film. I'm guessing they were taken around the same time.

Leap before you look!

I am not sure how many of you have malls to wander around in, and for those that do how many actually wander around in them. Of course here in Utah we have numerous malls, one of which Shea works in. In said mall there are many kiosks trying to sell just about everything. There is one particular kiosk that is trying to sell VERY expensive hair straighteners with a twist. They use the straighteners to create tight ringlet curls in women's hair. I guess to do this they make one twist in the bit of hair they want to curl and run it down from root to end. This seems simple enough, and one would think that they could do the same thing with their home straightener, especially if one was named Shea and had a really nice straightener at home.

With this knowledge in mind Shea runs home and spends a week perfecting the technique of curling her hair with a straightener, ignoring the curling iron sitting right next to the straightener on the counter. At the end of this week it is time for Shea to get her hair colored and trimmed. When Karen, our hair dresser, takes a look at Shea's hair she immediately reacts with "What did you do to your hair?" That phrase is seldom good coming from a hair dresser! Turns out the VERY expensive straighteners from the mall have heat settings, and curling hair with them on low is OK for hair. It also turns out that using a straightener that has off and hot, regardless of how nice a straightener it is, is not at all good for hair. Shea figures she lost a good four inches off her hair to eliminate the damage caused by the one week of curling with her straightener.
