Rocking Valentines

Last weekend I casually mentioned Valentines day to Shea, and what a HUGE mistake that was! It sent us into a huge argument about the day in general, gifts, and my inability to care about crap like that. A few days and a few hurt feelings later we decided to get Rockband for each other as our Valentines present. After all, nothing says love like a horrible third rate imitation of has been rockers!

In all fairness the game is MUCH better than third rate and there are some pretty recently released songs in the game. For anyone looking for yet another way to humiliate the loved ones around them, or a great drunken party game, I would highly recommend this game. For those of you that don't know what Rockband is, it is like guitar hero with drums and a microphone. For those of you still scratching your heads, it is a game that plays songs and gives you notes to play. You can pick lead guitar, bass guitar, drums, or the microphone. You can play with up to four people at the same time. The instruments look like the real instruments and are about as close to actually playing as I am personally ever going to get.

To give you an idea of how the game works, and because we think they are really cute, here is a video of Taylor "playing" the guitar. Ignore our own personal American Idol Shea in the background doing her best to murder the songs playing! Also, please ignore the mess. I have been meaning to have a word with the maid, but keep missing her on account of the fact that she NEVER comes to work!

Here is an example of the drums, and another video because, although they look the same, we actually do have two kids. No, it is not a camera trick!

Great!! Interesting song choice with Taylor. Ha! My friend Jill loves this game and guitar hero. Her band name is Coke Zero. Isn't that a great name?

Love the background. Where did you find the paper. MUCH superior to my slop job.

Yeah, it is kind of like Karaoke, but instead of just singing there is a meter that shows you how close to the actual singer you are in tone. If you are too bad the crowd will boo you off stage, so to speak...which amounts to game over unless one of your band members can save you.

Tiff, I think you page is great. I don't think it is sloppy at all! I can't remember where we found the background image, but I will look it up and let you know tonight...unless Shea does first.
